Description

Seems the fixes from CHEF-1074 may have undone in 0.9.12? chef-solr doesn't not write its pidfile without adding the -P $pidfile option to the start stanza.

As a workaround you can copy the init script to your local copy of the cookbook and use cookbook_file to retrieve it instead of reading out of the gem.

CHEF-1074 was fixed in the 0.10 branch, and was merged into the 0.9 branch for 0.9.20, which was never released. At this point it is unlikely there will be another 0.9 release as work is beginning on Chef 11 and Chef 0.10 has been out for over a year.

In any case, CHEF-1074 could not have been a regression in 0.9.12. If you were having an issue with the chef-solr init script not passing the pidfile option on 0.9.12, this would be a duplicate of CHEF-1074.
