bootstrap-latest is out-of-date, causing chef-server::apache-proxy install fail on RHEL 6 and CENTOS 6

in the meantime, I have created new bootstrap tarball and linked it to the bootstapping chef-server wiki page

I haven't run into the gecode issue before, though I last tested it on CentOS 5, not 6.

I have no idea how the gecode cookbook would work on centos5 since ld.so.conf isn't updated. Perhaps CentOS has /usr/local/lib in ld.so.conf by default. RHEL 5,6 don't

I ran into errors using the bootstrap-test-20120113 tarball on a fresh CentOS 6.0 install using chef-server::rubygems-install

The bootstrap-test-20120113 tarball seems to be missing the yum recipe that's required by the erlange recipe. I copied it over from the github repo which got it past that error, but the install still would not complete.

I'm using the bootstrap-latest right now and it installed cleanly. I've updated the wiki page page to show the original command and to put the command using the custom tarball back under the CentOS/RHEL troubleshooting section.

Erik, had u passed the gecode part of the installation when u ran into the erlang error? What kind of errors did you get after you copied over the yum recipe?

also, were you using the apache-proxy recipe as part of the bootstrap install?

Is this still an issue with bootstrap-latest.tar.gz?

Closing this as fixed; the bootstrap-latest tarball will be updated soon, and we haven't had other reports of this.
